Home workout for women
Strength training is one of the best habits for any woman: it tones, improves posture and helps keep bones strong, which matters more with age. It won't make you bulky overnight: building a lot of muscle takes years of specific work.
This full-body routine is done at home 3 days a week. If you have dumbbells, use them for squats and deadlifts to progress.
Sample plan
Day 1
- Squat · 3 sets × 15 reps
- Incline push-ups · 3 sets × 10 reps
- Glute bridge · 3 sets × 15 reps
- Plank · 3 sets × 30 s
Day 2
- Alternating lunges · 3 sets × 10 reps
- Under-table inverted row · 3 sets × 10 reps
- Bodyweight good morning · 3 sets × 12 reps
- Bicycle crunch · 3 sets × 30 s
Day 3
- Goblet squat · 3 sets × 12 reps
- Dumbbell row · 3 sets × 10 reps
- Dumbbell Romanian deadlift · 3 sets × 10 reps
- Side plank · 2 sets × 30 s
Key tips
- Progress gradually: add reps or weight each week.
- You can keep training during your period if you feel well; lower the intensity if needed.
- Eat enough protein to recover better.
